Bloody Mary

Bloody Marys are very popular in Vegas, and you can find them anywhere. It’s a must for any bar. Plus Halloween is getting close, and I thought a spooky drink is in order.
So without further ado, I present you the infamous, excentric, weird and ,of course, bloody, Mary:

The recipe is as follows:

1 1/2 ounces vodka
1/2 cup tomato juice
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
Worcestershire sauce to taste
Tabasco to taste
1 celery stick for garnish
1 lemon wedge for garnish

You can add salt, pepper, spices as you wish.

When you order a Bloody Mary at a bar or from a cocktail waitress, you can specify whether you want it spicy or not. That way they can hold the Tabasco and pepper.

There are many variations of the classic Bloody Mary. Here are a few of the most popular:

A Virgin Mary lacks the vodka, being basically just a spiced tomato juice.

A Bloody Maria replaces the vodka with tequila.

A Michelada is a refreshing summer drink, made with Mexican beer instead of vodka. Instead of mixing it with tomato juice, you can also just add spices and sauces to the beer.

If the beer is not Mexican, then the drink is called a red beer :)   A Chelada, on the oder hand, is beer with sald and lime (so you don’t confuse the two).

A Caesar has Clamato (which is clam juice) replacing the tomato juice.

The garnishes that go on a Bloody Mary can be horseradish, celery, olives, cherry peppers, dill pickle, cucumber, avocado, crab sticks, carrot sticks, green onion stalks, pickled asparagus, marinated mushrooms, etc.

So why not try a Bloody Mary in Vegas? Especially if it’s October…
