(702) 646-4848

720 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson
(702) 566-3166

PRO’s

  • Cheap food, if you’re in the mood for Chinese but don’t want to spend a lot of money
  • Several locations, easy to find and reach
  • Small place, more suitable for take-out but pretty confy if you’d rather sit at a booth and eat there
  • Not crowded, usually you don’t have to wait in line to get your food
  • Fast service, I got my food in a few minutes
  • Pretty friendly Chinese staff
  • The choices of food are very interesting and diverse, ranging from Moo Shu Chicken or Beef, General Chicken, Egg Foo Young, Wonton Soup, Crab Rangoon, to Chop Suey
  • They have lunch specials, from 11 AM to 4 PM, you can get egg drop soup, fried rice, Lo Mein noodles and your choice of meat or vegetables for around $6
  • They have family specials
  • Vegetarian specialities and seafood
  • They deliver

CON’s

  • The place looks more like a fast-food, pretty small, not really a restaurant atmosphere. More suitable for a quick lunch, take-out or delivery
  • You get what you pay for: a quick Chinese meal, just like Panda’s or any other Chinese fast food. Don’t expect anything special, like an authentic Chinese atmosphere
  • The lunch specials are small (but still worth the $6)
  • It’s a place for locals more than tourists, located off the Strip, you’d have to take at least 2 buses to get there from a hotel

Overall, I’d say it’s a good deal to eat there if you’re in the neighbourhood and in mood for Chinese.

Here are some pictures I took in the Sahara location:

George Wallace

Type: comedy

Shows at the Flamingo, 10 PM, Tues-Sat

Price: over $65 (I was looking on different sites, and on one the cheapest ticket was around $65, and on the casino’s page it was $85)

Opening performance by Mosaic (an original band, live, no instruments), throughout the year

PRO’s

  • George Wallace has great reviews, he’s called “the new Mr. Las Vegas” (Wayne Newton is the rightfull owner of this title)
  • He connects with the audience, interacts with everybody in a way or another
  • Picks on people from the audience, makes jokes about the places they’re from, and the jobs they do
  • Gives away surprise prizes to the people from the audience
  • Is good at “Yo mama jokes”. You might even hear some
  • He has a routine he does in every show: People Say Stupid Things. He is famous for the “I be thinking” jokes
  • The thing I found the most entertaining about his show was the opening group, called Mosaic (to be honest, I wish they’d sang all the 90 minutes)

CON’s

  • I saw his show, and… did not find it very funny. Would much rather have seen Dane Cook, Jeff Dunham or any other stand up comedien that actually makes me laugh hard
  • After reading a few reviews of his show online, written at very different times, it seems to me they’re describing the exact show I’ve seen, meaning he’s using mostly the same jokes and tricks all the time. For example, how he picks on people working at the airport, or many other of the jokes he makes
  • During the show, he makes people come on stage, and eventually gives them some prizes. One was a lady that was running late, and was a gospel singer. She seemed to be weird, but then she got on stage and sang really good. At the end she got $100. Well, after reading reviews, the lady was obviously part of the act, and she does that on most or all shows. I have real doubts if he’s really giving away stuff to people in the audience or it’s all just an act
  • He said he’ll be “giving away” t-shirts and autographs after the show, only to find out that he was charging $20 for a simple, white T
  • The tickets are very expensive and the show, for me, was not worth it. I don’t want to put down the man, by no means, maybe I caught him at a bad time, or he’s not my style. I’d just much rather see a more entertaining, colorful show, where I won’t get bored

Steakhouse 46 (The Flamingo)

If you’re in the Flamingo, and want a fancy dinner, or maybe you want to impress your lady, this is the place to go.

You can make reservations here:  (702) 733-3333

Hours: Dinner: 5:30PM - 10:30PM; Nightly

Cost: 25-40 $

PRO’s:

  • The menu includes aged beef and fresh seafood,  gourmet cuisine at an affordable price (cheaper than a lot of other steakhouses)
  • The  furnishing is fairly attractive and sumptuous, and the tables candlelit. This creates a romantic atmosphere
  • It offers a large selection of wines
  • The service is very good
  • You get discounts when you purchase show tickets for the Flamingo (I’ve got a show ticket for George Wallace that came with a discount for the Steakhouse)
  • There’s a private dining room, where you can bring 20-40 friends! (if you can find that many)

CON’s:

  • The room is too big and apparently it can get noisy (ruins the romantic atmosphere)
  • The prices are high for the average consumer, but I think they’re not as high as many other steakhouses. It’s not a place where you’d wanna wine and dine your lady every night!

Overall, I think it’s a pretty nice and classy place you’d wanna go for a special occasion. Maybe to celebrate your wedding anniversary, or just to have the experience of fine dinning in Vegas.

3600 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 - - -  888.987.6667

PROs

  • it’s a AAA Five Diamond Award-winning hotel, meaning the service you’ll get will be the best possible
  • you can choose between a guest room, a guest suite, and a villa. The cheapest room you can find is around $170 per night stay. The suites go from $500 up
  • it offers a spa and a beauty salon that promise to pamper you to the extrems
  • it’s home for the more than famous “O” Cirque du Soleil (performs twice nightly at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. , Wednesdays through Sundays, no performances on Mondays and Tuesdays);
  • it has a few breathtaking amenities: the dancing fountains in front of the casino offer a view and a show with jets of water jumping high into the air accompanied by music; the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens are a great way to enjoy nature at it’s finest from within a casino! every season is recreated with plants, flowers and trees by 140 expert horticulturists, gazebos, bridges, ponds and water features adding to it’s splendor (and it’s FREE to get in!); upon entering you will be greated by 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers on the ceiling created by world-renowned artist, Dale Chihuly;  the art exhibition at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art has only the best in paintings, sculptures and other works by renowned artists; “In the Master’s Hands: PICASSO’S CERAMICS” is the latest addition to the gallery; it has some exquisite golf courses to offer (like Shadow Creek, Primm Valley and others, award winners designed by famous architects, offering beautiful landscape in the middle of nature);
  • it has some pretty nice bars: Fontana Bar offers a beautiful view just above the lake with the dancing fountains; the Petrossian Bar off the lobby, very soffisticated and luxurious; the Baccarat Bar combines the pleasures of a lounge with a pianist playing and the table game baccarat; the Pool Bar for those hot summer days; the Caramel Bar&Lounge entertains you with DJ’s and nice ambiance;
  • The Bank is a very upscale nightclub for those that expect a little bit more from the clubbing experience;

CONs

  • very, very upscale. Maybe the most elegant and classy casino in Vegas, definitely not accessible to everybody (well, this is ovbiously not a real CON, just that a lot of people might feel uncomfortable in this environment, thou others might just have the money and the social status to enjoy it);
  • besides the dress code, the prices might also keep you at a distance;

            I hope I have gave you an idea what Bellagio is all about. A great place to go visit, an oustanding, elegant place to go eat, a classy place to stay during your trip.

PURE The Nightclub @ Caesar’s Palace

Friday – Sunday, Tuesday

10 p.m. – early morning hours
Pussycat Dolls Lounge - Performances begin at 10:30 p.m.
Tuesday-Saturday

One thing is for sure: there will be both good and bad reviews about everything, including Pure, one of the most famous nightclubs in Vegas.  I’m not trying at all to say this is the gratest club ever or to say it’s a bad choice, not worth your money. This is up to you to decide. So to make it easy I thought I would list pros and cons. Here they are:

PROs:

  1. It has been named the No. 1 Club in the Country by E! Entertainment, the top Las Vegas club by America Online, Las Vegas Review Journal, Las Vegas Weekly and Las Vegas Citylife.
  2. It has an impressive list of DJs who represent the best of both coasts, including resident DJs DJ AM, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Hollywood, Mark Ronson and Mix Master Mike.
  3. It has introduced PURE Tuesdays, a night reserved for locals (free admission!!!).
  4. It is divided into 3 different rooms, each with different DJ’s, sound systems and styles: upstairs there’s a Terrace with a panoramic view of the Strip; located just off the main entrance hall is the Red Room, a VIP haven secluded from the main club – and often separated by velvet ropes – which offers its own bar and VIP restrooms. The main room also has a VIP area,  raised  right above the dance floor. Then there is the Pussycat Dolls Lounge, of course.
  5. It’s upscale, trendy, good place to socialize, spot celebrities.

CONs:

  1. It is pricey: $40 for men to get in, $20 for women; a lot more if you want a private bungalow on the roof. The VIP service really pricey, if you want a table and a bottle is gonna cost you way over $400;
  2. In a busy night the lines are going to be huge, so you’re in for a several hour wait.
  3. It’s very crowded inside, you can barely move or dance; the dance floor is small and doesn’t allow you to show off your moves.
  4. The drinks are very expensive, even if you’re thirsty and just want bottled water you’ll have to get $7 out of your pocket.
  5. Not a good club for relaxing, dancing, having a nice night out with your friend without too much hustle.

Well, you decide what kind of clubbing you’re in the mood for….if you’re willing to spend some money and maybe wait in lines for hours. For sure PURE is one of those things in Vegas you just have to see, at least once…

A Review Of….LAS VEGAS!

It might be a good idea to start with  a short review of the city itself. Why not, maybe before you come to Vegas you don’t really want to read about how good or bad the casinos are, or where you can find the best food… you are not even here yet, so you just want to know a little about Vegas, is it worth spending your money to come here or not?

So….what are the ratings for this town?

Well, it is rated best gambling destination in the world. With one of the most expensive casinos on the planet (Bellagio cost 1.6 billion dollars to build, Wynn cost a whoopping 2.7 billion),  and the most renowned nightlife around.

Some of the casinos here are rated to be the best places to gamble if you want to become a millionaire. Ocean’s people didn’t come here for nothing!

Hungry? No problem. Las Vegas has been proclaimed the buffet capital of the world. Hundreds to choose from, with around the world cuisine, at some very afordable prices. Everything from Chinese buffet, French, Seafood, Mexican….whatever your heart desires. You pay once when you get in and eat all you can!

And talking about food…Vegas is also in the list for the top 10 best steakhouses in the world. So if you have money to spend and the buffet doesn’t cut it for you, why not try SW Steakhouse in the Wynn, which has been voted one of the best around.

Vegas is also in the charts as having some of the best pools in the world! Luxurious, refreshing, innovative, you can enjoy them everywhere, even if you’re in the middle of the desert! It might be in Caesar’s Palace, Mandalay Bay, or Hard Rock, or any other place where you decide to cool down a little in those hot summer days (or to warm up in a jacuzzi in winter)… Also home of some of America’s most luxurious spas

Vegas is not called entertainment capital of the world for nothing! Here you can see the best shows in the world year round; magic shows, dog shows, erotic shows, comedy shows, circus shows…well, you got the idea. Vegas hosts Cirque du Soleil, The Blue Man Group, Toni Braxton, The Chippendales, Thunder From Down Under, David Copperfield, Penn&Teller, Barry Manilow, Rita Rudner, Elton John, and so much more…

Vegas is the only place in the world were you will find, all in one city: pieces of ancient Egypt, Rome, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, artifacts from the Titanic, Picassos, Van Goghs, Rio de Janeiro parades, volcanos, rainforests, lagoons, gondolas, and many more man made wonders that make your imagination run wild with excitement and set the backround for a fairy tale!

Las Vegas has acquired the distinction of being the most sought out destination for weddings. There are maximum numbers of chapels throughout the city and all the chapels portray a touch of traditional elegance, beauty, and charm. Las Vegas wedding chapels are famous worldwide and are considered amongst the best wedding chapels throughout the world. There are around 150,000 couples getting marriage licenses every year;  Las Vegas is the only place on the globe where you can get married by an Elvis impersonator. So if you’re convinced by now, you can have a wild bachelor/bachelorette party and then get married by Elvis in one of the city chapels.  Oh, and divorce the next day if you were too drunk and married the wrong person… or you can be more traditional and marry the old fashioned way, or just renew your vows…there are more than plenty of places where you can do it!

That’s Vegas for you, baby! Not perfect, but surely promises an experience that you will never forget!
