MISSION

Hello everybody, my name is Anca.
megavegalicious

And this is my very first web page, or blog. I have decided to ”build” it because I’ve always been passionate about computers, about the Internet, and about writing (plus many other things).

 Being my first one, it is a very interesting and exciting experiment for me. I began from scratch and worked my way up, learning through trial and error a lot of times. I am constantly learning something new, and am always looking for ways to improve it. I love it, because it’s like brain food. It keeps me busy, poses challenges, and stimulates neuron growth :)

Now the goals I have with this site are the following:

  • give the site an informational but also personal point of view; the part called “the city” will deal with strictly informational stuff about Vegas, and the part called ”the person” will be strictly personal; that way, I figured, the site won’t look like a million other sites, but will have that extra, one-of-a-kind flavour that makes each of us so unique; here you will find things I love, I hate, I’m interested in, whatever goes through my mind…
  • I want to post only original articles, even if it will mean more work and less frequency; everything I post has to be written by me, of course the Internet is my main source of inspiration, but I acknowledge any help in writing the article; also the pictures I post in the “X Picture of the Day” category are 100% unique, taken by me with my personal camera;
  • unlike most web pages that revolve around ADS (google Ads, Amazon affiliates, etc.), mine will be distinct; I do want to make some money from my work, of course, but this is not the way for me; the overwhelming majority of pages I have visited are filled with ads and links, which can be very annoying when they pop in the middle of a text. If you’ll see adds on my page, it will surely not be between lines of text, although it’s considered the best way to “trick” the readers to click on the add; I don’t want to trick anybody, especially you, the reader  who honours me by appreciating my humble work; if I will have some adds on my page, it will be at the end of a post, so you can choose if you want to click on it or not after you’ve read the article; and I won’t ever have tons of adds on the left, on the right, up and down, and in between; I think at that point your text revolves around the adds and your site has just become strictly a money-making tool with no personality or individuality;
  • the same thing happens when you write just for search engines, making sure you insert plenty of popular words over and over again, and writing articles that you know will bring you lots of traffic from search engines; it’s just like with the adds, you’re writing for the money and fame; I write whatever I’m interested in, with regards to the human reader, not the search engine;
  • I plan to advertise this site (I said advertise this site, not ON this site :)) and let people know about it; I will mainly do this through the Internet, but also in real life, on real paper, through word of mouth;
  • I will also try to make a category of the site that will deal with local businesses, advertising for them and letting people know they exist and they do a good job; this will include reviews of businesses and products;

This list of goals, my mission,  will change and grow as I grow and the site grows. This is by no means an absolute and exhaustive list of objectives. But there is one thing that will never change and is absolute:

  • this site will try to shine like a star, and not like a glittering kitsch on a neon board :)

Thank you and enjoy!
